Truck maker PACCAR recently recalled more than 116,000 Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks over a gear shifter issue.

On March 14, 2024, PACCAR issued a recall for 116,343 trucks for safety issues related to “improperly crimped connectors in the gear shifter.”

“The right-hand gear shifter stalk connectors may have been improperly crimped, resulting in a loss of communication. A loss of communication between the gear shifter and the transmission may result in the vehicle becoming disabled after coming to a stop, increasing the risk of a crash,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall documents state.
