Popular travel station chain Buc-ee’s is opening the company’s first-ever store in Colorado next week.

On Monday, March 18, Buc-ee’s will celebrate the grand opening of a new 74,000 square feet location in Johnstown, Colorado.

The Johnstown store will be about the same size as the Sevierville, Tennessee, Buc-ee’s that was named the largest gas station in the world when it opened in June 2023.

The new Buc-ee’s is located at 5201 Nugget Road off of I-25 and CR 48.

While there will be no truck parking or trucker-friendly amenities, the store will feature 116 fueling stations and 12 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Construction has been underway at the Johnstown Buc-ee’s since June 2022, 9 News reports.

“We picked a great partner in the community of Johnstown for our first store in Colorado,” said Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s. “At the foothills of the beautiful northern Front Range, this Buc-ee’s will introduce all sorts of bikers, hikers, skiers and campers to the cleanest restrooms, friendliest staff, and freshest food they’ll ever find on a road trip.”

Texas-based Buc-ee’s was founded in 1982. The company operates 48 stores in Texas and across the south.
