Shipping container falls off trailer, injuring two

Shipping container falls off semi truck and injures two as it travels through Chicago on Sunday afternoon. 

 

The incident happened on March 17th on the eastbound Kennedy Expressway in Chicago just before 3 p.m. 

According to WGN TV, the shipping container fell off the semi truck as it was moving along the Expressway. As it fell, it struck a nearby car, injuring two people inside. 

 

Two people were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries as a result of the incident 

The eastbound lane of the expressway was shut down for a couple of hours while crews worked to clear the wreck and investigate the incident. It is not clear what caused the container to fall off of the truck. No further information has been released.
