SR 131 closed in Ohio Monday after messy semi wreck

A portion of State Route 131 has been shut down as crews work to clear a messy single semi wreck. 

The accident happened on Monday morning, May 3rd in Clermont County, Ohio at around 6:40 a.m.

According to WLWT 5 News, a semi truck was traveling along SR 131 near the 300 block when, for unknown reasons, the truck overturned. 

The wreck spilled the truck’s load of large metal beams along the shoulder of the roadway and left the rig laying upside down in a roadside culvert. The incident also downed multiple power poles in the area.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the incident and the health status of the driver has not been released. 

SR 131 is expected to remain closed for cleanup for the remainder of the day. 

The incident is still under investigation.
