Texas officials have filed several new charges — including murder — after man allegedly drove a stolen big rig into a DPS office last week.

On April 18, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office filed new charges against Clenard Parker, 42, including felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal mischief.

Parker was previously charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, one count of evading arrest or detention causing serious bodily injury, and one count of unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The charges were issued following an April 12 incident that killed 78 year old Bobby Huff and left several other people injured.

On April 11, Parker attempted to renew his CDL at the Texas DPS office in Brenham, but his application was rejected for unknown reasons.

The next day, Parker reportedly stole a semi truck and led the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on a pursuit before crashing into the DPS building, then backing the truck out of the building in an apparent attempt to strike it again when he was apprehended by police.

According to The Eagle, Brenham Mayor Atwood Kenjura said that Parker could have brought the entire building down if he rammed it again.
