The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) took time to give kudos to an old school truck driver and his attention to safety during the International Roadcheck inspection effort.

On Wednesday, NDHP took to Facebook to praise 89 year old Denver-based truck driver Dave Sheets, who drives for Salt Lake City-based trucking company Savannah Transport.

NDHP writes:

#NDHP troopers encounter professional drivers who are committed to safety. We commend Mr. Sheets who is 89 years old and keeps his 2000 Peterbilt in top condition. His dedication to safety earned him an @CVSA decal after an inspection yesterday during #InternationalRoadcheck.”

According to KVRR, Sheets has driven for Savannah Transport for more than 25 years. Company owner Terry Crawford calls him a “terrific, old-school truck driver.”

International Roadcheck takes place throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada from May 4 — 6.
