major crash involving 12 vehicles on Interstate 195 in East Providence, Rhode Island, left 14 people injured on Tuesday morning, March 4.

The accident occurred just before 9 a.m., when a westbound tractor-trailer failed to stop for traffic, colliding with approximately twelve vehicles, according to a statement from the Rhode Island State Police.

Authorities reported that 13 people, including the truck driver, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. A 14th victim, a woman, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, 64-year-old Jon Main, has been charged with driving to endanger, resulting in physical injury.

No further details on the crash have been released as the investigation continues.
