BEAN STATION, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating after a fake shipping contractor made off with $350,000 worth of beef from a meatpacking plant in Bean Station, according to a report from the Grainger County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to Southeastern Provisions on Helton Road after two customers reported they never received their shipments of meat. The company’s shipping manager told officers that a subcontractor, identified as “List Trucking Sales,” had been hired to deliver the loads.

However, when the original shipping contractor attempted to contact "List Trucking Sales," they received no response. Emails to the listed dispatcher, identified as "Ahmed Wengy," also went unanswered.

The incident report noted that the identification for both the drivers and the trucking company was not verified at the time the shipments — totaling approximately 80,000 pounds of beef — were loaded. The information provided by "List Trucking Sales" was later found to be unverifiable and possibly fraudulent.

The two shipments were supposed to be delivered to locations in Kentucky and Michigan. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
