Dump Truck Driver Charged with DUI After Crash Kills 80-Year-Old Woman in Ossipee, New Hampshire

Ossipee, N.H. — A Rochester man is facing a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated after a fatal crash in Ossipee that claimed the life of an 80-year-old woman, authorities said.
The crash occurred on Route 28 on Friday when a Mack dump truck, driven by Robert Gifford, 54, reportedly lost control while traveling northbound and collided with a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Dorothy Marshall, 80, of Ossipee, who was heading southbound.
Marshall died as a result of the crash. Following an investigation, Gifford was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Carroll County Department of Corrections pending his arraignment scheduled for Monday.
