A man accused of threatening to kill multiple people on Facebook was arrested in Carlisle County, Kentucky, following a joint investigation by the River Counties Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and local authorities.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received multiple calls on Wednesday reporting Facebook posts from a user threatening to kill residents in the area. Investigators identified 43-year-old Joseph Cook as the source of the threats and began surveillance.

Cook, who already had an active felony arrest warrant, was located inside the sleeper cab of a semi-truck parked at a business on Kentucky 121. Deputies noted that the business is owned by one of the individuals he had allegedly threatened.

Cook was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ballard County Detention Center.

He now faces six counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, in addition to the charges related to his outstanding warrant.
