Tractor Trailer Overturns Onto Car on I-270 in Maryland, Four Injured

A serious crash on Interstate 270 in Maryland caused major delays Monday morning after a tractor trailer flipped over onto a sedan near the Montgomery-Frederick County line.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. near Dr. Perry Road in the Hyattstown area. According to Davis Pazos, assistant chief for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, the collision left three people in the car and the truck driver injured, though none of the injuries were reported to be life-threatening.
According to NBC Washington, dramatic images from the scene showed the massive blue truck crushed into the front of a white sedan, with the trailer tipped entirely on its side across the northbound lanes.
Emergency crews responded quickly to stabilize the scene and upright the vehicle, but all northbound lanes of I-270 were temporarily closed at Exit 22, causing major traffic delays during the morning commute.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. As of now, no charges have been reported.
