tractor-trailer unexpectedly fell apart in the middle of an intersection in Kernersville, North Carolina, spilling mulch across the roadway and causing significant traffic disruptions on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The incident occurred at the intersection of South Main Street and Masten Drive. Dashcam footage from a nearby vehicle captured the moment when the trailer’s sides abruptly separated, the floor buckled, and mulch spilled onto the road, revealing the trailer had been operating without a roof.

Cleanup crews spent considerable time clearing debris and mulch, temporarily shutting down the intersection to traffic.

Authorities have not yet announced whether the truck driver will face any citations or charges. The exact cause of the trailer’s structural failure remains under investigation.

According to WXII12, the incident was recorded by another motorist’s dash camera, clearly showing the trailer's dramatic collapse.
