KANSAS — A large-scale commercial vehicle inspection effort conducted in southwestern Kansas over the weekend led to numerous out-of-service violations, according to Kansas Highway Patrol.

The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), in coordination with Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) personnel, carried out the three-day enforcement operation aimed at enhancing roadway safety. More than 300 commercial vehicles were inspected during the campaign.

As a result, 6% of drivers and 14% of vehicles were placed out of service for various violations.

In addition to the commercial vehicle inspections, saturation patrols were deployed in Seward, Finney, and Ford counties, targeting impaired driving and other traffic safety concerns.

The initiative reflects KHP's ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to reduce the risk of crashes involving commercial motor vehicles. The results of this inspection underscore the importance of ongoing enforcement actions to maintain safe highways across the state, according to Kansas Highway Patrol.
