BALTIMORE, Md. — A tractor-trailer hauling 80,000 pounds of eggs overturned overnight on the ramp from Interstate 70 eastbound to the inner loop of I-695, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and State Highway Administration officials.
The crash happened during the early morning hours, temporarily blocking the ramp and causing delays for commuters. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Cleanup crews worked for several hours to remove debris and spilled cargo, and the ramp was reopened just after 8 a.m., MDOT confirmed.
Drivers were advised to use alternate routes during the closure as crews cleared the overturned trailer and secured the area.
