SCHERTZ, Texas — An Amtrak passenger train carrying 129 people collided with a semi-truck hauling rocks Tuesday morning near Solms Quarry Road in Comal County, temporarily shutting down the area and causing major traffic delays.

According to the Schertz Police Department, the crash happened around 8:05 a.m. at the railroad crossing on Solms Quarry Road at FM 482. The train, which was also carrying nine crew members, struck a rock hauler semi that was occupied only by its driver.

Authorities said there were no injuries among passengers, crew, or the truck driver, and the train did not derail. The tracks were cleared by 10:35 a.m., and both FM 482 and Solms Quarry Road have since reopened.

According to MySanAntonio, the cause of the collision remains under investigation. State and federal officials are assisting local police in determining what led to the crash. Amtrak said it will handle all passenger-related inquiries.
