AVON, Ohio — A tractor-trailer hauling chicken caught fire Monday morning on Interstate 90 West, forcing lane closures and causing heavy traffic delays, according to Avon police.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. near Nagle Road, when officers responded to reports of a semi-truck on fire. Police said two of the three westbound lanes were closed while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

By 8 a.m., the fire was reported to be out, but cleanup and lane restrictions continued. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the fire.

According to FOX 8 Cleveland, traffic along I-90 West was backed up for several miles as crews cleared the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
