Tractor-trailer carrying 7000 live chickens overturns in Dauphin County
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A tractor-trailer carrying thousands of chickens overturned early Friday morning in Lykens Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. near the intersection of North Crossroads Road and Luxemburg Road. Police said the truck was hauling an estimated 7,000 chickens when it flipped off the road.

Troopers said no people were injured in the crash, though it remains unclear how many of the chickens survived. The vehicle came to rest off the roadway, and traffic in the area was temporarily affected while crews worked to clear the scene.

Police and fire crews responded to assist with cleanup, and North Crossroads Road was closed during the morning hours as workers removed debris and the truck.
