Peterbilt crane truck overturns near Massena, driver airlifted to Syracuse
LOUISVILLE, N.Y. — A Peterbilt crane truck overturned on Route 37 near Massena Central School Thursday afternoon, leaving one man seriously injured and prompting an extended road closure.
According to New York State Police, the crash happened shortly after noon when 58-year-old Frank Ledeay of Bloomington, Texas, veered off the road for an unknown reason. The truck entered the median, overturned, and came to rest in the roadway.

Ledeay was freed from the wreckage by emergency crews and taken to Massena Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for further treatment.
The New York State Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit responded to inspect the vehicle. Assistance at the scene was provided by the state Department of Transportation, Louisville and Massena Fire and Rescue, Massena Police Department, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

According to WWNYTV, as of 6 p.m., the eastbound lane of Route 37 remained closed to traffic.
