Two men arrested for trying to steal highway sign in Connecticut
WINDSOR, Conn. — Two men were arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly attempting to steal a large road sign from Interstate 91 in Windsor, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers identified the suspects as 42-year-old Andrew Scott Lampkin and 46-year-old Jonathan Riopelle, both from Vernon. Police released a photo showing the highway sign strapped to the back of a white pickup truck.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. along the northbound lanes of I-91. Authorities said the men parked on the shoulder and were in the process of removing the sign when they were caught.
Lampkin and Riopelle were charged with larceny, reckless use of a highway by a pedestrian, and improper parking on a highway.

According to Action News 5, both men were released on $500 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on November 21.
