Chaos on Route 283 as tractor-trailer jumps median and crashes into eastbound lanes
LONDONDERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A tractor-trailer crash shut down a major stretch of Route 283 Monday morning after the rig crossed from the westbound lanes into oncoming eastbound traffic, according to PennDOT.

The crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. near mile marker 6. Despite the severity of the incident, officials said no significant injuries have been reported.
All eastbound lanes of Route 283 remain closed between the Middletown Road exit and the Route 230/Route 341/Toll House Road exit. The left westbound lane was also closed but has since reopened.

Traffic is heavily backed up, and PennDOT warns drivers to expect major delays and use caution near the scene as crews work to clear the wreckage and remove the tractor-trailer.
