Witnesses later confirmed that the car’s driver was a 21-year-old man. They said that after the truck stopped, bystanders rushed toward the vehicle — and the young driver gave a thumbs up through the window to show that he was okay. He then opened the door and exited the vehicle on his own, without assistance.
