Semi Slams Into Traffic Control Vehicle on I-15 Near Pocatello — Second Crash at Same Spot in 24 Hours
POCATELLO, Idaho — A semi-tractor trailer crashed into a stationary traffic control vehicle equipped with a crash attenuator early Tuesday morning, marking the second such incident at the same location in less than 24 hours, according to Idaho State Police.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on northbound I-15 near milepost 73, where the semi struck the parked traffic control truck positioned for an active work zone. The impact tore open the trailer wall, spilled cargo across the roadway, and caused significant damage to the traffic control vehicle.

Because of the damage and the unstable load, ISP said the right northbound lane and the Exit 73 off-ramp remain closed and are expected to stay closed until later this afternoon. Drivers should anticipate delays and consider alternate routes.
State Police noted that another traffic control vehicle was struck at the exact same location just one day earlier, underscoring the ongoing danger posed to workers and responders in active work zones.
No serious injuries were reported in the crash.
According to Idaho State Police, motorists are urged to slow down, stay alert, and be prepared for diversions when approaching work areas.
