PAWTUCKET, R.I. — A box truck and a car were involved in a dramatic rollover crash on Interstate 95 North in Pawtucket early Tuesday morning, sending both drivers to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Rhode Island State Police.

The collision happened just before 6:30 a.m. near Exit 41B (School Street). Police said the box truck was traveling in the low-speed lane when it struck a car that was attempting to merge onto Exit 41A. Both vehicles then veered left, crashing into the median.

The impact caused the box truck to roll onto the median, ending up leaning into the high-speed lane of I-95 South with the car trapped underneath it.

According to WPRI, crews responded quickly and both drivers were transported to the hospital. No major injuries were reported.

The crash caused heavy delays during the morning commute as both directions of the highway were reduced to one lane. The scene was cleared and all lanes reopened around 8:45 a.m.
