The crash happened between Interstate 79 and Exit 8 (Camp Horne Road), prompting PennDOT to shut down the southbound lanes while crews worked to stabilize the load and clear the overturned truck. Pennsylvania State Police said no injuries were reported.

Traffic backups extended well north of the Wexford exit on I-79. Some drivers reported sitting in gridlock for more than an hour, with detoured routes also severely congested. The traffic disruption was so significant that the Pittsburgh Penguins delayed the start of their home game to 7:30 p.m. to allow fans additional travel time.

A salt truck was seen treating the roadway, though authorities have not confirmed whether weather conditions contributed to the crash.

All lanes have since reopened, according to WTAE.
