Crash Involving Two Semis Overturns Trailer and Spills Baby Diapers Across I-90 Near Lewiston
LEWISTON, Minnesota — A crash involving two semi-trucks shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 on Friday morning after a trailer loaded with baby diapers ruptured, scattering cargo across the roadway.
The Minnesota State Patrol said the collision occurred near mile marker 240, just west of the Lewiston exit, on Dec. 12. One of the trucks overturned during the impact, spilling a large load of boxed diapers across multiple lanes. Minor injuries were reported, but no serious medical issues were noted.
Emergency responders closed all westbound lanes while crews worked to remove debris and clear the damaged vehicles. A detour was temporarily established through Lewiston, Utica, and St. Charles, significantly slowing traffic through the region.
Authorities have not yet released details on what caused the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to FOX 9.
