Running Semi Left Unattended Triggers Multi-Vehicle Fire at East Dundee Parking Lot, Causing $400,000 in Damage
EAST DUNDEE, ILLINOIS — Several vehicles at a semi-truck parking lot in East Dundee caught fire Friday after authorities said a running semi was left unattended, leading to a multiple-vehicle fire that caused an estimated $400,000 in property damage.
According to the East Dundee Fire Protection District, firefighters responded just after noon on Dec. 26 to 590 Healy Road in East Dundee, Kane County, at an outdoor vehicle and equipment parking and storage business.

Crews arrived to find three semi-truck car haulers on fire, along with multiple cars burning that were on the trailer of one of the semis, the fire district said.
Firefighters battled the fire for about 40 minutes, according to the fire district. Officials estimated the incident resulted in approximately $400,000 in property damage.
The incident remains under review.
