Multiple fire fighting agencies responded to a fire at the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum in Walcott on Monday night.

The fire occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, September 6.

The marquee sign at the trucking museum caught fire.

 

Museum officials said that a customer spotted the fire and called 911.

Firefighters from the Walcott, Durant and Blue Grass Fire Departments responded to the scene and were able to keep the damage contained to the sign.

No injuries were reported.

 

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum will reopen for business on Wednesday, September 8.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum was created by Iowa 80 Truckstop founder Bill Moon for the purposes of preserving and celebrating trucking history.
