Crews Battle Heavy Snow While Helping Driver and Passenger Exit Semi-Truck After State Route 22 Crash Near Freeport
FREEPORT, OHIO — Emergency crews responded late Wednesday night to a semi-truck crash on State Route 22 near the Douglas Turn as heavy snow moved through the area, with firefighters assisting the occupants out of the truck and remaining on scene for hours before clearing the incident.

According to the Freeport Fire Department, the call came in at approximately 10:30 p.m. for a semi-truck accident on State Route 22 at the Douglas Turn. Firefighters said they helped both the driver and passenger exit the vehicle safely. Officials said no injuries were reported.

Mutual aid was provided by the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Department, Hopedale Fire & EMS, and the Cadiz Fire Department. Crews stayed on scene for several hours to ensure the area was secure, and the scene was officially cleared at 2:20 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities have not released additional information about what caused the crash.
