The crash happened at approximately 6:15 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, when the southbound logging truck, reported to be not loaded, attempted to negotiate a curve too fast for the moist pavement, which was described as being affected by morning dew. Authorities said the driver lost control and the truck slid jackknife-style into the wooded area off the roadway.
