69-Year-Old Crushed Beneath Car Carrier After It Rolls Backward During Maintenance in East Windsor
EAST WINDSOR, CONNECTICUT — An East Windsor man died Tuesday evening after being pinned beneath the cab of a tractor-trailer car carrier at a construction company property, according to police.

Police said William Hastings, 69, was found at about 7 p.m. in the area of Kement & Sons Construction Company, 297 North Road. Initial findings indicate Hastings was doing maintenance work under the truck cab when the vehicle rolled backward, trapping him underneath.
Authorities said Hastings was removed from beneath the tractor-trailer car carrier, but was pronounced dead by EMS.
Police said there is no indication of criminal activity or foul play. The East Windsor Police Department, Connecticut State Police, and OSHA are investigating.
