NATCHEZ, MISSISSIPPI — An Adams County man has been arrested in connection with the intentional burning of a semi-truck parked at a Natchez residence, and additional charges were filed after deputies said suspected controlled substances were found during the arrest, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said Troy Leake Sr., 45, of Natchez, was arrested earlier this week at a home on Fox Glen Circle. Patten said Leake was initially taken into custody on an active warrant for third-degree arson, stemming from an incident in early November 2025.

According to investigators, Leake allegedly set fire to a 2004 Peterbilt semi-truck that was parked at a home on Steamplant Road in Natchez.

“Intentionally destroying someone’s livelihood is a serious crime that impacts our entire community,” Patten said, calling the loss a significant financial hit and a potential danger to the public.

Patten said deputies also found Leake in possession of suspected controlled substances during the arrest. He was charged with three counts of controlled substance violation and one count of introduction of contraband into a county correctional facility, officials said.

Leake is being held without bond at the Adams County Detention Center pending his initial court appearance.
