Both Drivers Trapped and Hurt After Semi-Truck and Utility Truck Crash in Winkler County
KERMIT, TEXAS — Two drivers were injured Monday evening after a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle and a utility truck on State Highway 302 in Winkler County, according to the Winkler County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said the collision happened at the intersection of westbound SH 302 and FM 1232. Both drivers were entrapped and required extrication by Winkler County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Winkler Volunteer Fire Department personnel.
Officials said both drivers were transported by Winkler County EMS for treatment. The severity of the injuries was not immediately released.
The Texas Department of Public Safety responded and was investigating the crash. Authorities reported the westbound lane of SH 302 was closed, with traffic alternating through the eastbound lane.
The sheriff’s office issued an accident alert at approximately 6:35 p.m.
