A TDOT spokesperson said the truck jackknifed, briefly impacting traffic on the interstate. Shortly after midnight, THP said troopers were investigating the crash near mile marker 145 and warned motorists that roads were extremely slick in the area.
TDOT reported that all lanes were back open by 4:50 a.m., and a spokesperson shared photos from the scene.
The crash comes as winter weather has led to icy conditions and multiple crashes statewide, with THP responding to incidents across Tennessee. Officials also noted that President Trump granted Tennessee’s emergency declaration due to the winter weather.
