A truck driver was hospitalized following a suspected road rage shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday.

The shooting occurred at 1:40 p.m. on September 14 on the Murfreesboro Pike in the southern part of the city.

Police say that two suspects in a black Acura with a temporary tag cut off a truck driver during a suspected road rage incident.

The suspects were reportedly angry that the truck driver had changed from the right to the left lane in front of them.

From the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD):

The truck stopped. Two young black men got out of the Acura and walked up to the truck driver’s door. One shot was fired through the door, hitting the truck driver in the midsection. The two then got back into the car and fled.

The 40 year old truck driver was transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and is now listed in stable condition.

MNPD has released a portion of the truck driver’s dash cam video to help the public identify the suspects.
