Local Driver Delivers Meals and Gas to Stranded Motorists During I-20 Winter Standstill in Lincoln Parish
LINCOLN PARISH, LOUISIANA — As winter weather left motorists stranded along Interstate 20 in Lincoln Parish Tuesday, one local resident stepped in to help drivers stuck in the cold by hand-delivering meals and gasoline near an I-20 exit.

Greg Terrell, who lives near the interstate, said he took action after seeing drivers trapped in freezing conditions and said his own background as a professional driver pushed him to help.
“There’s something God put the spirit on and say, man, help them God, because I drive for a living,” Terrell said. “And I’d have broke down before and had to be out there... waiting on somebody to come rescue me. So I didn’t think nothing about it. That’s what I do. You know, I help people and I serve.”
Terrell’s effort highlighted how community members can play a role in supporting travelers when dangerous weather disrupts traffic and leaves drivers waiting for conditions to improve.
