LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA — Police say a California truck driver was found with counterfeit $100 bills after investigators tracked down a company-owned semi that had been reported stolen when the driver was fired and allegedly refused to return the rig — then used it to haul his own loads for months.

According to Manheim Township Police, Kevin L. Henderson, 40, of La Mesa, California, was taken into custody on Thursday, January 23, 2026, after officers responded to Arconic at 1480 Manheim Pike in Lancaster. Police said the trucking company that owned the semi — based in San Diego — contacted authorities to report the truck stolen, explaining that Henderson was terminated and told to return the truck around December 19, but repeatedly failed to do so.

Investigators said the semi was tracked to Lancaster, and officers arrived at the Arconic facility where they found Henderson closing up the back of the trailer. Police said Henderson identified himself using a California driver’s license and told officers he had just completed a delivery.

Police said Henderson admitted he had been using the company truck for several months after being fired, delaying the return so he could keep taking personal jobs with the rig.

Officers were granted permission to search the truck, police said, and during that search they found multiple green ziplock bags, a grinder, and counterfeit $100 bills.

Henderson was charged with Forgery, Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, police said. Court records indicate he was later released on $50,000 unsecured bail following a preliminary arraignment.
