HOPE, Arkansas — A box truck carrying 10 tons of fresh limes was stopped at a weigh station in Hope and found to be hauling 620 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the shipment, according to the 8th South Drug Task Force. Investigators estimated the seized drugs had a street value of $28.1 million.

Officials said the case began in November 2025, when investigators received information about meth being trafficked through Texarkana. Multiple agencies partnered to track the suspected drug shipment, including the Arkansas State Police, Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the 8th North Narcotics Task Force.

Authorities located the suspect vehicle — a box truck — and stopped it at the Hope-area weigh station. After searching the load, investigators found the meth hidden within the lime shipment.

Officials said two individuals were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
