Police Searching for Suspect After Passenger in Second 18-Wheeler Shoots Truck Driver in I-20 Road Rage Incident Near Jackson

HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI — Police in Jackson are investigating after a truck driver reported being shot while driving on Interstate 20.

Jackson Police Detective Tommie Brown said the driver of an 18-wheeler was traveling westbound on I-20 between Ellis Avenue and Highway 18 when a passenger in a second 18-wheeler allegedly fired a shot during a road rage incident.

Police said the victim continued driving to Clinton, pulled over near the Springridge Road exit, and reported what happened. The driver was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to investigators.

The shooter has not been identified. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
