Chambersburg Police Ask for Public's Help Identifying Driver After Surveillance Footage Captures Tractor-Trailer Striking Parked Vehicle and Fleeing on Lincoln Way East
CHAMBERSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA — The Chambersburg Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a tractor-trailer believed to have struck a parked vehicle and fled the scene Friday morning.
According to police, the victim parked his vehicle on the side of the roadway in the 200 block of Lincoln Way East at around 8:15 a.m. on March 6, 2026. When he returned to his vehicle, he discovered damage to the driver's side mirror. The victim reported the incident to police at 5:56 p.m. Officers reviewed surveillance camera footage and observed the incident occurring at 8:48 a.m. A photo released by police appears to show a tractor-trailer believed to have caused the damage. Officers were unable to obtain a license plate number from the footage.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Chambersburg Police Department or submit an anonymous tip.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
