ADOT Warns of Heavy I-10 Traffic in Goodyear as New Buc-ee's Opens Monday— Truckers Should Find Alternate Routes, No Commercial Parking at Location
GOODYEAR, ARIZONA — The Arizona Department of Transportation is warning drivers to expect heavy traffic congestion on Interstate 10 near Bullard Avenue in Goodyear starting Monday, June 22, as a new Buc-ee's travel center opens its doors at 6 a.m. — drawing tens of thousands of visitors in its first week.
The new Goodyear location will offer the chain's signature beaver nuggets, brisket sandwiches, and extensive fuel and retail offerings, but ADOT says the excitement will come with a significant traffic price tag on I-10 both at and near the Bullard Avenue interchange.
ADOT recommended that drivers not heading to the grand opening use alternate routes away from Bullard Avenue. Freeway ramp closures in the area are also possible at times. Law enforcement officers will be on site, and ADOT made clear that parking along freeways including shoulders will not be permitted.
For truckers specifically, Buc-ee's locations generally do not welcome commercial truck parking, making alternate routes an even more practical choice for professional drivers passing through the area.
"Be patient and for those going to Buc-ee's, obey all traffic enforcement… and enjoy a snack or two for us!" ADOT said.
