Three Employees Dead After Shooting at Midland Trucking Company; One Victim Identified as Hardworking Father of Two as Investigation Continues by Sheriff and Texas DPS
MIDLAND, TEXAS — Three people are dead following a shooting at a Midland trucking company facility Monday morning, with a witness claiming an employee shot two coworkers before turning the gun on himself — though law enforcement has not confirmed those details.
The Midland County Sheriff's Office responded at approximately 6:58 a.m. on June 22 to JAT Partner Logistics in the 5400 block of East Highway 80 near North County Road 1140 following a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies found three people dead from apparent gunshot wounds. A company spokesperson confirmed all three victims were employees of JAT Partner Logistics.
The Victim Identified
Family members identified one of the three victims as Jeff Waugh, 45. Loved ones described Waugh as a hardworking father survived by his two teenage children. The other two victims have not yet been publicly identified.

The Investigation
Officials say the motive for the shooting remains unclear. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Midland County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Authorities confirmed there is no risk to the public at this time.
