The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) says that multiple people were injured after a suspect randomly fired on several vehicles including a semi truck yesterday.

The shootings were reported on the morning of Tuesday, November 30, 2021, on I-15 between Nephi and Scipio in Juab County, Utah.

According to UHP, four vehicles were shot — three of the vehicles were southbound on I-15 and one vehicle was northbound.

Local outlet Fox 13 reports that one of the vehicles that was shot was a semi truck.

Two people inside the targeted vehicles were hit by bullets and suffered non life-threatening injuries.

“The last report was that the suspect was southbound on I-15 but the last reported vehicle that was shot was northbound. The current whereabouts of the shooter are unknown at this time,” UHP said in a news release.

The suspect vehicle is thought to be a light colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee.

UHP is asking the public to be on the alert when traveling through the area and to report anything suspicious.

If anyone has information about or witnessed the shooting incident, they are urged to contact the Utah Highway Patrol dispatch at 801-887-3800.
