Trucker hurt after man leapt from overpass, crashing into semi’s windshield

A truck driver was injured during a fatal incident involving a pedestrian who jumped from an interstate overpass in Maine on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at 3:35 p.m. on January 19 in Richmond, Maine, according to Maine State Police.
Authorities say that a semi truck driven by a Pennsylvania resident was southbound on I-295 near Exit 43 when a man jumped from an overpass, striking the truck’s windshield.
The truck driver was able to safely stop the truck near the southbound on-ramp and call police.
The man who jumped off the overpass was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released, but police say that he is a resident of Freeport.
The truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
