A truck driver had to be rescued from a wrecked rig in Tennessee on Tuesday after overturning on Interstate 24.

The accident happened on May 31st near Lookout Valley, Tennessee.

According to News 12 Now, the semi truck clipped a guardrail and flipped over into the median, freeing and injuring its load of chickens.

A majority of the chickens were killed in the wreck and the driver was trapped inside of the cab. The extent of the driver’s injuries are unclear. Traffic was backed up from the ridgecut to past the I-59 intersection as crews worked to clean up the mess.

I-24 is expected to remain closed for hours for the chicken crash cleanup, as well as the cleanup of a burning motorhome fire just a few miles down the highway.
