The wife half of a husband-and-wife driving team has been hospitalized after being hit in the chest by a chunk of concrete thrown off overpass in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The incident happened on March 6th along the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, California.

According to CBS News, the semi truck was passing beneath Santa Monica Boulevard when the windshield shattered and the wife was hit in the chest by the concrete.

“My wife was driving under the freeway over here and she saw some guy standing on the top and then he hurled this through our windshield,” said Tony’o Hines, the husband half of the husband-and-wife driving team. “I came forward and she’s just covered in glass.”

Hines said that he had to help his wife slow the truck and pull over to the shoulder before he could call 911. She was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. No further information about her injuries has been released.

“This is ridiculous. I don’t know, why would somebody do that?” Hines said of the incident.

California Highway Patrol says that they are investigating the incident.
