Minnesota trucking company burns to the ground after substantial fire started by a smoking semi truck on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire happened at the Huls Bros Trucking company at 13266 Collegeville Road on March 12th at about 4:10 p.m. west of St. Joseph, Minnesota.

According to WJON, the fire started when one of the eight semi trucks parked at the building started to smoke. An employee noticed the smoking rug and ran to get a fire extinguisher, but the smoke was too thick to go near the truck by the time he got back.

The St. Joseph Fire Department, along with he Avon, Albany, Cold Spring, Rockville, St. John’s University, and St. Stephen Fire Departments all worked together to extinguish the fire.

The shop and the eight semi trucks were completely destroyed by the blaze. The fire is still under investigation by the state fire marshall.
