Big rig barrels through crash scene in dash cam video shared by Utah Highway Patrol
The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) shared dash cam video of a close call involving a big rig as a reminder to drivers of “the dangers of being out on the freeway.”
UHP said that the video was captured last week on I-15 in Iron County at the scene of a previous crash before police arrived.
The crash left a damaged vehicle blocking I-15. Motorists saw an oncoming semi truck and attempted to warn the truck driver about the crash scene.
“The semi swerves and narrowly misses hitting motorists and the vehicle,” UHP said.
“We politely remind all drivers to the dangers of being out on the freeway. Please remember to scan the road ahead and look for hazards, slow down, when possible move crashed vehicles out of the roadway, call 911, and watch for other hazards. As a pedestrian on the freeway, always use extra caution and be extra vigilant of the increased dangers,” troopers said.
