A truck driver was pinned by a rolling truck after removing the wheel chocks while at a loading dock, police say.
The accident happened on Tuesday, March 27th in Alsip, Illinois in the 5700 block of 118th Street.
According to the Chicago Tribune, 58-year-old John D. Horn removed the wheel chocks from the wheels of a tractor trailer parked at a loading dock. The trailer then rolled, pinning Horn between the trailer and dock.
Officers arrived on the scene to find Horn on the ground and began emergency medical treatment until paramedics could arrive. Horn was then taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A medical examiner then performed an autopsy and ruled Horn’s death an accident.
