Trucker Moves Burning Semi Away from Fuel Pumps at Connecticut Truck Stop

Firefighters in Milford, Connecticut, responded to a semi-truck fire at a local truck stop early Wednesday morning, where a quick-thinking driver managed to prevent a potential disaster.
The Milford Fire Department (MFD) received multiple calls at 6:00 a.m. on February 5 reporting a tractor-trailer engulfed in flames at the Secondi Bros Truck Stop.
According to officials, the truck was parked at the diesel pumps when the driver, who was inside the truck stop business, was alerted that his cab had caught fire. Despite the passenger seat already burning, the driver bravely entered the truck and moved it away from the fuel pumps, preventing further escalation.
Fire crews arrived at the scene and worked to contain the blaze, but the truck was completely destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the tractor-trailer was not carrying cargo at the time of the fire.
Authorities remained on-site to assist the Fire Marshal’s Division, which is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
