Two people were critically injured when a semi-truck crashed and became lodged under a bridge on a Fort Worth highway, police reported Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 12 p.m. on February 24 near the intersection of Texas 360 northbound and Texas 183 eastbound. Police confirmed that another vehicle was also involved in the accident.

Emergency responders transported the two injured individuals to a nearby hospital by ambulance, according to a MedStar spokesperson.

Authorities shut down traffic at the scene while they conducted an active investigation. Police are also evaluating the structural integrity of the bridge struck by the semi-truck to determine if any damage could impact safety.

The Traffic Investigations Unit is leading the inquiry into the cause of the crash. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
